Boneless Ranch Pork Chops, baked

Boneless Ranch Pork Chops, baked

These baked ranch pork chops give you plenty of savory ranch flavor without covering the pork in a heavy sauce or breading. The chops stay soft and juicy with seasoned edges, which is exactly what you want from a plain pork chop dinner. Add mashed potatoes, rice, or a vegetable, and you’ve got a solid weeknight supper.

sliced baked ranch pork chops

Boneless pork chops get a bad reputation because they can go from soft to dry fast. For this recipe, we use chops that are about 1 to 1½ inches thick because the thin ones don’t give you much room to work with. The key is to have the outside seasoned, but still have the pork itself juicy enough that it doesn’t need gravy or a sauce.

The ranch seasoning leaves you with garlic, salt, onion, and herbs to help as a shortcut. It makes it quick and straightforward enough to be in a regular dinner rotation.

The biggest thing we pay attention to is temperature, not time. We pull the pork chops at 145°F and let them rest for about 5 minutes before slicing. The 15 to 18 minute bake time is a good guide, but pork chop thickness and ovens vary, so we start checking early. With lean pork, a few extra minutes can be the difference between juicy and dry.

How to reheat baked pork chops

We don’t recommend using the microwave to reheat them. It will cause them to overcook.

If you froze your pork chops uncooked, allow them to thaw in the refrigerator over night and then bake as normal.

If your pork chops are cooked and frozen, let them thaw first.

If you are reheating thawed, cooked pork chops, we recommend putting them on a sheet pan in the oven at 300°F until heated throw. You want them to slowly reheat without overcooking them.
